It was Clannad in 1984 when I bought Legend album. The next album I got was Macalla of course, but I became a fan just after Sirius album. Clannad started to be one of my favourite bands ever (and still is). In early 90’s I bought 2 Maire’s solo albums… Well, it’s a long story…

Well, I first heard Clannad as the start from a U2 concert, as Moya also writes in her book. They played Theme from Harry's game (from tape).
That was in 1986. From that moment on not only U2 fan, but also Clannad. But they did't gave much concerts then. (that is not that I knew) Then in 1995 (?) Lore. We seen something in the newspaper, by surprise, and went to the concert. (still got the t-shirt) Anja was then pregnant from Renske. (she liked it too she said).
And then this year: on feb/march again saw something in the newspaper that Moya was giving concerts (2H) and 1 week later we went to Arnhem. (and on oktober 3 more Signature concerts.

Sometimes I wonder how many fans Clannad got from U2 concerts.

Thats my story.

Enya first by a mile.

Then through the Enya Forum this year, Clannad. (Tho I knew the name before, but didn't realise the Enya connection.)

Lastly Moya.

In terms of buying/listening to - Enya first, then Moya (5 weeks ago when I bought Irish Christmas). I hate to admit it, but I have yet to hear anything by Clannad.

:(

Moya might have been a bit shocked last night on the online chat, had she known!

I have first heared of Enya, then thus of Clannad and then Moya herself.

I am happy that a good friend of mine likes her really much, so that I learned a lot more about her and finally have joined the forum.

I don't have any solo - CDs of her up to now( I have a few of Clannad though), but I've already ordered "Two Horizons" and am desperately waiting for it to arrive! :D

Welcome to the forum, Beldaran! I hope you'll enjoy it here as much as I do :)

lizzy1e wrote:My automatic response would have been Enya.... but then thinking about it I realise that I used to watch the Robin Hood series that Clannad sang the title song for. I loved that song soooo much that I used to mainly watch the series just to hear it, just the style and the voices. Then years later I heard Enya, and after that I learned about Clannad... and only then found out it was Clannad that had done that song for Robin Hood.... and then learned about Moya.

Amazing how these things all come together throughout a person's life. :D

EXACTLY the same here :D I would only add that I saw Moya's name featuring in Chicane's "Saltwater" and there was something unusual to this song that I liked a lot. But this must have been about less than a year before I learnt about Clannad, so, once again quoting you, Lizzy, it was really amazing how all these things came together in the end ;)

Hi Beldaran,

welcome to Moya's forum! :D You ordered TH? I'm sure you'll like the album; it was my 2nd album from Moya that I've bought. Let me know how you like that album, will you? My first Moya album was "Perfect Time".
Enjoy your stay here.
