Any Trekkies?

Postby the whistleplayer » Fri Oct 15, 2004 10:08 am

I was just wondering, reading the 'definitive lists' of other interests. There seem to be at least a few Star Trek fans here on the forum...
I am one of them, what about you all?
I have no hobbies, only obsessions...

I like Star Trek and would more than gladly sit down to watch any of it's incarnations - but i wouldn't run around in Spock Ears reciting every ship ever to have been commissioned into Starfleet. ^^ Sorry, no Trekkie here.

Well, I've only got one next generation series on dvd, but I'd love more of them...it's just that they aren't exactly what you would call cheap :?
But I buy very Star Trek magazine! (It's being imported here from the UK!)

I did read STM at one point not long ago, but it was expensive, and there was too much 'Enterprise' stuff, so I haven't got it for a while now. I'm not a 'go to conventions' Trekkie, but I do like it a great deal  My favourite series is Voyager, closely followed by Next Generation, but I haven't really watched the others  My favourite characters are Kathryn Janeway, Deanna Troi and Beverly Chrusher!!

Anyone else? - Girls, what do you think of Chakotay?

I like Chakotay too, he's a very sympathetic character, very gentle too.
My all time favourite character is Data... And from Voyager I like Seven of Nine, though I love every episode that focusses on Tuvok. (Vulcans are my favourite alien! 8) )
What's your favourite captain?
Mine is Janeway

I could have know it was you Whistleplayer. However much we may near the "an cupla"- thing. That is something we will never share. I will not ever become a fervent trekkie; anyway they all look so confusingly alike :P

I'm a fan of star trek but not a trekkie, I don't have a lycra uniform and I don't have a poster of seven of nine on my wall. (although maybe i should).

I prefer the star wars universe, it seems more realistic to me, lots of rogues and warn out old ships and stuff.

Resistance is futile. :D

Yeah, well, I don't have a Starfleet uniform myself, I'm not at all into uniforms, whether military or science fiction...
And I've never been to a convention either, have no posters on my wall, but that's mainly because I just did (well...my mother did mostly) some redecorating :D
But I love watching it! So it depends on your definition of Trekkie actually if I reckon myself one.

So what about a classcostume for the dancing?! And if you need any confirmation on her being a trekkie; she is. She tapes them all!

I have a feeling elizabeth will soon add a comment about Chakotay (sorry Lizzie, but it is true  )
I really like him, but not as much as I did. My favourite captain is Janeway BY FAR, although I like Picard (and Patrick Stewart is an English actor which adds credit for me :) ). My favourite character has to be Deanna Troi though - Betazoids are my favourite speices.
Who's your favourite character?
