wierd things with 'new' posts

Postby nessieq » Sat Sep 09, 2006 5:16 pm

hey,
just noticed this happening again- i've seen it before but now it's starting to annoy me. I just posted something in a topic, logged off and on again a few minutes later, and the Fan Space where I posted it had gone orange- i.e. there are new posts. I looked in it, only to find that the post I had written minutes earlier has been marked as new, even though I was the one who posted it :? It's no big deal- just slightly annoying! Anything I'm doing wrong or can do to fix it??

It happens to me sometimes that the only new post shown was my last post - that can be if I've been offline for quite a while. I agree, it is a bit irritating :roll:

Same here,, thought it was like that first, but it only happens sometimes, and it´s quite irritating,,, thinking that someoneposted again, and then to see that it´s your last post...

yeah- it is a minor thing, absolutely, there's no rush and if no one answers this topic i wont be devastated, dont worry :lol: I just wondered if there was something wrong with my account or if I was doing something daft ( as is often the case) so i thought I'd see if anyone else noticed it too. But if you guys all have it- so be it!

The forum software records the TIME (minute) of the last click you had.

If you log out of the system immediately after posting, - then log back in it ';knows' the last 'visit' you made ended at a particular time - and records ALL other posts as being NEW.

So it does depend how quickly you log out after posting - particularly if you do not do lots of topic reading after.

============

Also if its not after a logout - did you jump out of viewing your postafter making it - going to the index or the room rather than the post - if so you have NOT read your own last post have you.
