Songs and poems

Postby Garbo » Tue May 25, 2004 4:36 am

Here we go, we should post songs or lyrics/poems in this corner. I'll start by posting one of my mom's favourite poems of mine and let's see if someone can post a simple notation to it... :D

Comments are always welcome, but if you would like feedback, constructive criticism, etc. please make known of this! :D Otherwise please refrain from open criticism and merely delight in the brilliance of the Moya fans.

I don't mind posting some of my own stuff here, trouble is, ninety-five percent of my stuff doesn't rhyme!! I have a fairly recent exception though. I started this earlier in the month and it's not complete, at least IMO. Here's what I have of it:

I will remember
From ten thousand miles away
I will recall
The living of these days
Your breathing life
Into the heart of me,
Your tapestry weaving
Through every part of me

I will remain,
A part of me will stay
I will renew
When all else fades away
Your timeless dreams
Are written in my eyes
Your texture and colour
From earth to cloudless skies...

Okay, back to being an artist...!

:)

:D

Alright, now you've got me into it! *giggle* By the way, great job Sandy and Garbo! :o Sandy, yours brought tears to my eyes. It's beautiful.
I'll post one of the songs I've recently written . . .

Gone (it's in C minor)

I sing alone
Down where the ocean meets the shore
I saw you fly
The green of your eyes is no more
Did you fly home
Where the sunrise never ends?
You are no more
The sweetest dream I'll ever know, has gone, descends

I sing alone
Feeling the sand slip through my hands
The day has grown
Cold rain falls fast in rippling bands
Tears fall unseen
Upon the grey-green sea, I fall
I mean to roam
Until I find that place where you will hear my call

I sing alone
Someone is buried in the sand
I know her name
She left to me her wedding band
I cannot blame
The sea, it took her lover
She left in pain
Her sad embrace was warm like no other

*musical interlude*

I sing alone
Where is that world up in the sky?
Where have you gone?
The golden-green of your sweet eye
Has turned to stone
But I must try to find you
Where do you lie?
Far from this deep, deep sea of green and grey and blue

If you find here something wrong, Please write.

Confession of suicide

Hope? What for? I`m asking myself.
How, could I, survive at this place?
Don`t you tell me what should I do?
I miss you.

God, I feel so lonley
Every one sometimes want die
Now, other minute is becoming past
And other man is diing, but is it
big think?

Mine world is suffering

* * * *

this silence is killing me still
I need suppres my bad thinks
and now, you come, you bring about
I hate myself more
I can`t live this way so long

there is a little girl inside me
a little girl who scare about future dreams
I`m weak inside, I want child remain
did you bring me up this like?

every single day you show me how useless I am
it is needn`t talk, you give me to feel
you don`t need me any more. That is how everyday
kills me a little more
now, go away and never come back
sun rise, sun set but my heart is death

just something I conjure up...

Home in your Eyes

Souls awaking in the fading light
dancing round the willow trees
Seeing the beauty if the endless night
and all of this and more only for me!

Upon sleep's descent I cry tears for you
they form a river of sweet dreams
How could you resist my words so true
When all you returned were broken seams?

Give to me once more the deep sensation
of your love so wild and bold
Do not abandon this frail relation
don't you leave me standing in the cold

***(musical interlude)***

Return to me the days of time
when all was lovely and entwined
by threads of silver connected all
From the heavens you did fall

Return to me the ways of madness
and shove away the moody sadness
By threads of light we resist lies
and I felt home within your eyes

No longer do I hear the whispered tunes
of how you loved me in the days of glory
A wanderer I am to be amidst the desert dunes
of the world beyond the call of sorry...

Hope you like it :)

btw, still need to read your poetry/songs...sorry! :|

:o Thanks Jim!

alright then, here's another wee, sad number:

Melted

I think I'm losing my mind
It's all about what fits
Perhaps it's better to be blind
Than to be torn to bits

I'm like an ice cream in the sun
Melted to the ground
I'd left before I had begun
A bird that makes no sound

*key change*
Melted
So melted
Melting into me

What makes me so obsessed
With what goes in my well?
When can I take a rest?
I'm falling, no, I fell

The cherries in my bowl
Have all become like juice
I have no where to go
My bones and light are loose

ok, here's some of mine, the first is a poem...

Did You Ever…

Did you ever hear the thrush’s song,
Or see the busy bumble bees,
Or watch the grass grow all day long,
Or hear the wind blow through the trees.

Did you ever watch the clouds go by
Above the rocky, rugged ground,
And gaze in awe at the wondrous skies,
And see the beauty all around.

Did you ever wonder why flowers grow
In red and yellow, pink and green,
Or why the river always flows
With such a glorious, sparkling sheen.

Did you ever feel the glistening cold,
And see the shrubs go high in May,
Or lie in blissful fields of gold,
And live for the now, the here, today.

and the second a song for my band...

My true friend

When the light grows dark,
And the wind feels strong,
When the days are short,
And the nights too long,
When all seems lost,
And nothing true,
You call me, friend
And I’ll come to you,
You call me, friend
And I’ll come to you

When the songs are sung,
And the stories read,
When the bells are rung,
And your soul feels dead,
When all is old,
You need something new,
You call me, friend
And I’ll come to you,
You call me friend
And I’ll come to you

I’ll be there
When the rain pours down,
When your falling deep
Or afraid you’ll drown,
When the sun goes out
And the dark rules all,
I’ll be there, my friend
All you do is call,
All you do is call,
All you do is call.

enjoy!
i'll have to make some more ajustments, but the basis is there!

Wow Nessieq,

Those are so beautiful.
You have a wonderful way with lyric. I only wish I could hear the accompanying melody, too.

There is something timeless about your poem, nessieq. I could tell you have a very rich traditional background. I'm inspired and impressed with your work. Do you also sing?
