Personally i think Moya should have a bit more exposure to publicity. Her beautiful voice and talent are missed by so many people. And to think that it was only though Enya that i discovered Moya is unbelievable. It wouldn't harm Moya either, because i think it takes a certain person to really appreciate Moya's work.I know many people will disagree with me on this. But Enya takes all of the Brennan's family attention.

In todays world you can ask anyone who Enya is and its very likely they will say 'yes i know who Enya is'. But ask someone who Moya is, and it will usually be a 'i don't know'

Moya needs publicity...... (She can no longer be hidden away for the small amount of fans she has)

Nigel, I really know what you mean. It is often the same for me, when I mention the music I listen to. But remember, that in Utrecht this huge venue was sold out. 1200 seat were sold out! I think that is a lot. (You are right, it is not comparable with U2 filling whole footballstadions with 10.000 people, but I would not like to go to a concert with so many people. I think she is doing fine, and I am glad that she is kind of an insider tip, because that's why you only have to be at the venue one or two hours before start and not the night before to get a good place.

I went through it a dozen times the last Easter:
- Hey, this book is in English! What's it about?
- It's Moya's autobiography.
- Who's that?
- Do you know Clannad?
- Err... no.
- But you *must* know Enya...
- Hmm, I've heard that name.
- So, Moya is Enya's sister.
- Oh...
- ...

Hmm, yeah... The medal has two sides, you know. I personally think it's a shame that Moya is not as well-known as her sister, because she's such an amazing artist (not only music-wise, but she also seems to be an incredibly sweet person!). But then again, IF she had the major fame, I don't think that she would be able to do the things she does now, for instance meet the fans after the concerts, or sometimes even hook onto the forum to chat with us! And indeed, I also prefer concerts with a smaller crowd to big U2-like happenings... The atmosphere is just more intimate this way, and with Moya's music, this is quintessential if you ask me.
I say, two thumbs up, Moya! To me, she's doing fantastic :D

I love the fact that Moya is not too big to meet us fans after her shows or to do special things with us like she has but I also want to see the artists that I like, succeed.

I was surfing the web and came across this site and this topic grabbed my attention. I could go on about commericialism and corporations, which is all the music industry is, but I shan't.

My personal belief is Moya has done fine for herself. I only wish her more success if that is what she wishes for herself. If it benefits her and her family and our planet than I vote yes.

Most of my friends have heard of Moya only because I talk about how her music has touched my heart and soul and how it transcends all religions. I tell them of when I bought Whisper to the Wild Wind and when the tracks Whisper to the WIld Water, Peacemaker and In God's Presence played the tears welled up in my eyes. I bought Perfect Time as a birthday gift for a friend about 3 years ago because she asked what was playing on the player at work and I told her. She couldn't find it in any store so I got it online for her. She was touched by Moya's music and lyrics as well as I and it felt great to be able to share it with someone I cared about.

As for more popularity, well, I don't know that the public is ready for Moya. She could very well be ready for them. Most of the people I work with would turn her music off. They would much rather listen to music about violence and sex then anything that would bring about a change of heart. Anything that touches on that sacred space with us, that needs to much healing. It takes too much time, too much effort and yes, it can be painful as each of us realizes that we must change ourselves in order to help our planet.

I was at the beach yesterday and brought my copy of TOSOTR. I am almost done with it but had to keep putting it down because the universe kept blessing me with pods of dolphins. Normally you can see a few and then they're gone. On Monday, well, they were literally swimming back and forth for the 3 hours I was there. I cosidered it a birthday present as today is my birthday. I noticed there are a few other Taureans here, so belated birthday wishes to you all.

Anyway, as I read about the differences between Moya and Tim's religious upbringing and how their love transcended that I was so touched. What an example of love in action, which to me is God. Thank you Moya. Our world desperately needs your message, your music, your love and your spirit. We all can carry that to our friends and hope the seed gets planted. Yes, I do hope more people get to hear her music. Are they ready :?:  :? :D I can hope!

Peace and blessings to all,
Athena

I totally get what you're saying, Athena! I also think that Moya is one of those few artists who can really communicate a message throughout her music, plus, everytime I listen to one of her albums, it puts me in a great mood - kind of like it's summer all the time :D If only more people knew about her...
And of course: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and birthday wishes. Cherman, I totally relate to what you are saying about her albums putting you in a good mood. And many times I find tears in my eyes from the beauty in her voice, the beauty of her music and lyrics and how if only we all could just "get it". It is so simple, yet, so difficult. Just "Show Me The Way......."

Hey Athena,

Have you ever seen Moya live? 'Cause I notice here that you're from L.A. ... If you get the chance, you should really visit Europe and go to one of her concerts; it's even more amazing than her albums! Her voice is so powerful and touching when you hear it live; really a moving experience! :D

Many greetings,
Take care!

Hi Cherman,

No, I have not had the privilege of seeing Moya live. I hope to make it to Europe one dayand would especially love to visit Ireland as I have always had an affinity towards the Celtic heritage. Perhaps from a past life :) I was even learning Irish several months ago but had to take a break because of health issues. I hope to start up again in a couple of weeks. (The only problem is picking a dialect and sticking with it. It seems at the center each teacher focuses on a different dialect and being so new to the language I tend to look like a deer caught in the headlights of a car. Then I would just smile and nod. :mrgreen:Well, of course the other problem was trying to learn the pronunciation!!! Such a beautiful language though. It will be worth the effort!!!!!)

I can only imagine what seeing her live would be like. To feel the energy emanating from her as she sings from the heart would be so awesome. No studio technology and digital bits. Just her voice live. Well, if it's meant to be it shall be.

Peace and blessings,
Athena

Really? You're gonna love it! Oh, the joy she brings on stage when she performs "A Mhuirnin O" and the audience may sing along... So cool to see them all wrestle with their tongue when trying to sing Gaelic :D

Whahahaha, though I don´t speak Gaelic, I can sing it(but I can´t song:P) If I listen to a sog I´m able to know the lyrics by heart by looking at the lyrics once, and then listen to the song, so maybe I could try to sing..±P
