How was the workshop?

I know this is a ridiculously predictable answer, Susann - but it was another fantastic weekend. Unfortunately none of my photos came out (rather stupidly, I tried to manage with my mobile phone, and now I realise my hands aren't steady enough!), but I'm sure if you smile sweetly at G and/or Isabelle, they might be able to "rustle up" a few!

Although the workshop started on the Friday, for family reasons, I couldn't get there until the Saturday, so I arrived on the (horrendously!) early flight to Derry from Liverpool, and went more or less straight to the Ionad Naomh Pádraig where the workshops were held. Quite a bit of the singing we did was in English this time -things like "Two Sisters" and "Here's a Health to the Company", but we also did a few in Irish - "Crann Úll" and the T with the Maggies song "Ceol an Piobaire" as well.

Performing in Leo's on the Sunday was marginally less nerve-wracking this time, but only just, though...... :P

All in all, great fun with great company - just a shame there weren't quite as many people, but I still say it's quality, not quantity that counts.....

That sounds good, Dave. I was so sad that I couldn't be there but I had planned my holidays months ago. I was in Gweedore from 2nd till 18th June. But I have met Pól there.

We will have to smile sweetly at Isabelle I'm afraid, I only got a couple of photos of Moya and Cormac's concert in Leo's on the Saturday night, none of the workshop or anything else - however let me post a couple for you.

And special treat - Leo! http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a184/ ... CN4615.jpg

The whole weekend was great fun, with good music and the best company - what else can I say? Performing in Leo's was a very slightly less daunting prospect until I got to my turn! But turning up in Leo's with a crowd of lovely people and fitting about 7 harps onto that stage, and then the people in behind them was great fun! I will leave the actual logistics of it to your imagination!

Not much I'm afraid, but I was generally too distracted by things to remember to pick up my camera!

Thought to let you know that the Voices & Harps website has already many soundclips from the upcoming V&H album "Affinity", so, in case you want to pre-listen, just go to the site and enjoy!

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, info shamelessly pinched from Moya's website! :P

Affinity is now available to pre-order on iTunes and through voicesandharps.com. If you go through the V&H websites, it states that CDs will ship from 10 June, whereas it doesn't look like it will be available from iTunes until 26 June, if the date on there turns out to be correct. Time to get your orders in, folks.

I've also spotted just in the nick of time, that Moya will be on BBC Television tomorrow afternoon. Apparently she'll be singing one of the songs from Affinity on Songs of Praise. Has to be said, that it's not normally something I watch, but I'm more than willing to make an exception in the circumstances! Anyway the programme goes out at 4:30pm UK/Ireland time. I assume for everyone elsewhere around the world, that it will be available via BBC iPlayer, too.

Enjoy!

Well, sorry to correct you Dave, but BBC's TV programmes are NOT similarly available outside the UK than their radio programmes, so both live feed and "watch again" facilities are UK only. I will place my order to CDON early June when I will have some more money.

Apparently so! :( Sorry, folks - if I spot a link elsewhere that works worldwide, I'll post it.

just ordered a copy... Can't wait to receive it!
Meanwhile, I will not listen to the samples and videos already available... It will be worth the wait! :D :D :D
