Best Combo Ever!

Postby malmsteen734 » Mon Jan 07, 2013 10:01 pm

Dia duibh fans and Moya if you read this!

I just saw an interview in which Moya Brennan yes the voice of Clannad mentioned a project that involved German techno band Schiller. I almost fell out of my seat...I then proceeded to listen to Miles and Miles and did fall out of my seat. Moya as much as I adore your music, I think there should be an international regulation on how amazing musical collaborations can be. Your work with Chicane pushed those limits but now this!...My hears are now being medically examined to ensure that no permanent damage has been done due to an overdose of Musical Genius!

Hi malmsteen734, and welcome to the forum :) Always nice to see new folks around here!

You''re quite right: Moya has worked with Schiller and Chicane, and sometimes you'll see a 'club' mix of one of her tracks on other albums. Personally it's not my choice but I think it's great that Moya is so happy to work with groups across the musical spectrum :D

I haven't heard that piece for years, nice to know it is still out there!

Moya has done many other amazing collaboration pieces if you are interested :) far too many ever to list here, but I believe you will find many lurking around on the forum! Enjoy, and come back and see us!

@ Grania: Moya has done a song with the Scottish Folk rock band Runrig - the song is called "Dreamfields". You don't know how long I was searching for THIS treasure - and last year I've found it on a double CD collection of Runrig, which included "Scotland's Pride" and "Scotland's Glory".

@ malmsteen734: welcome and "Fáilte" to Moya's forum! Hope you'll enjoy your time here! :D

Welcome to the forum, malmsteen734. :)

Moya has done another song with Schiller. It's called "Falling". This song is on the album "A Future for the Michel". It's a compilation album by Moya Brennan and Schiller to raise money for St. Michel's Church in Hamburg.

As Grania mentioned Moya has done many collaboration pieces. I like very much "Hidden" with Hazel O'Connor. I have seen both together on stage performing this song. :D :D :D

And more songs appear! Thanks Macha - isn't Bruce Guthro a member of Runrig? I saw him sing with Moya in Leo's Tavern in 2011

Once again I appear to have exercised my great skill in killing conversations. Please ignore me and carry on

Never come across anyone who wanted 'em Angus, but I could certainly try - it would appear to be one of my very few talents!
