After being back from the concert in Düsseldorf at 1:15 a.m. I went to work Friday morning. At night I flew to Berlin. Here I had booked a room in a youth hotel near the Apostel Paulus Church were the concert took place on Saturday night.
The next morning I started early to see a little bit of Berlin. I hadn’t been there for some years. I started my sightseeing tour at the “Siegessäule”. When I arrived it was raining and the view from the top was not really good. But when I came out again the sun had won against the clouds. The weather that day was like Irish weather – it changed several times from blue sky to rain and hail and snow back to blue sky. But all the time it was very cold. From the “Siegessäule" I walked to “Schloss Belvue” the residence of the German President. From there I strolled along the river Spree to the “Bundeskanzleramt” (Federal Chancellery), to the “Reichstag/Bundestag” (House of the German Parliament) and to the “Brandenburg Gate”.
In the afternoon I visited a friend who came together with a friend also to the Clannad concert that night.
At 6 p.m. – two hours before the concert – I was at the Apostel Paulus Church. But there were already some other people including “Goldenhorse”. It’s always nice to meet somebody from the forum. An hour later the doors were opened. We got seats in the first row. Before the concert started I had the possibility to talk to Leon and to some other fans I met in Düsseldorf two days ago and even at the 40th anniversary of Leo’s Tavern 2008 in Crolly.
Then the concert started and I thought “Wow, what fantastic acoustics!!!”. The concert in Düsseldorf was wonderful but this one was magnificent

. Concerts of Moya and Clannad in churches are real special. I love it extremely. My friend didn’t know Clannad before but she enjoyed the concert very much. As always Clannad signed CDs etc. after the concert but this time they had more time for their fans than after the concert in Düsseldorf. I talked with Pól about the acoustics and he agreed. He said that it was more difficult in Düsseldorf to get a good sound.
Later Goldenhorse, three other fans and I went for a drink. We talked about our great passion Clannad, Moya and Ireland.
It was an unforgettable night. Here are the photos
