Cormac nominated in Irish Music Awards

Postby Dab051176 » Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:47 pm

Hi all,

The great Cormac DeBarra is up for the Top Harpist Award at the Irish Music Awards, and needs our votes!

To vote, you need to go to this website

http://www.irishmusicassociation.com/phpBB3/

and sign up. It's free, but it's a bit long-winded, to be honest! :P Once you're in, it's a similar forum to this one, so the voting procedure should be familiar.

Thanks one and all, and good luck, Cormac! :D

I've been looking at this for a couple of days and am confused - the forum thingy reads as though only paying members' votes count for anything...can anyone enlighten me?

Don't worry, G - it's not just you. It took me the best part of half an hour to get my head around it last night! Cormac himself is even thanking people for "tackling the website" on his Facebook, so even he recognises that it's like wading through treacle!!!!

You can vote without paying, but you need to register for free, as with most forums. I think I see where you might be coming from, but I would have thought they could be had up for all kinds of things if they only counted the votes of paying members.

For anyone struggling with website, hopefully this will help:

There should be two largish boxes on the page when you log in. The top one should be labelled "free members", and you need to go into the last thread in that box, which is labelled "Public Voting For Irish Music Awards 2011", and the description underneath should tell you that's the place for free members to vote.

Once you're into the thread, voting is fairly self-explanatory. Hope this helps.

Oh, and I'll second G - Go Cormac!
