I don't think this has been mentioned anywhere on the forum. Moya recorded a song, "The Dream", for the new album by Secret Garden, "Winter Poem".

This is what Secret Garden posted on their Wall on Facebook earlier today about "The Dream":
"our first single from the new CD Winter Poem is been released in Norway. Its called The Dream and features on vocals Moya Brennan from Clannad. We are really excited to have had this opportunity to work with her, hope you enjoy. You will find us on Universal label in Norway."

Wow, thanks for the heads up Luned, this is my dream come true! I knew that there will be a new SG album but featuring Moya is an icing on the cake!

Thanks for posting that Luned.

I have just listened to the song and it is truly wonderful. I like it so much that I want to buy the album. I have to say that I have never bought anything by Secret Garden before. Is their work easy to get hold of (in the Netherlands)? I hope it will be released here but haven't found anything about it yet.

You're welcome! I was so excited when I heard the news - such a collaboration!

@ Yvonne: I don't know about availability, and it's probably very early anyway, but you may like to check their website: http://www.secretgarden.no Secret Garden is an Irish-Norwegian duo and their music is mostly instrumental, but they sometimes invite guest singers to do the vocals, and the Irish novelist Brendan Graham wrote some of the lyrics, such as "You Raise Me Up". You may also know their "Nocturne" - the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1995. There are quite a lot of soundclips and other information on their website.

! I will keep an eye on their site and this forum. Your link said the release date is November 11th which is pretty soon, but there may be different release dates for different countries of course. I saw on their site that you can order CD's there as well, so that may be handy!

The song is really amazing, a bit like Clannad, I think.

EDIT: I just checked the Secret Garden webshop but when you click on the CD's there are only links to Amazon.com so no luck there...

Yvonne, I think their cd's are available in our little country. Try informing at one of your local cd shops if they carry any, but chances are that you'll be able to order their albums on site in any case. It's not like they're a very obscure band, considering they won the Eurovision Songcontest with Nocturne so many years back already.

Their music is wonderful, and I have lots of their tracks on my computer. Good luck hunting!

Back on topic: This is very interesting news Luned! Moya seems to be collaborating a lot lately, but this is a good one IMHO! Love Secret Garden's work overall, and ofcourse Moya's!

Just got my copy of the new SG album, goosebumps all over as I listen to the music and not only because of Moya! Stellar work from SG musicians once again!

Hi Suvi,

I received my copy of Winter Poem yesterday, my first Secret Garden CD and I like it very much. Moya's song is my favourite, though! The Dream is such a gorgeous song.

The only song I dislike is the one with the male voice, but that's probably because I don't really like his voice. I love the instrumentals and also the song Mary's Lament. Great album!
