Roger Shah ft. Moya "Morning Star" - 30th May 2011

Postby wonky_eggs » Wed Apr 20, 2011 6:05 pm

Hey everyone,

Ed recently posted news of a new Moya collaboration: "Morning Star" by Roger Shah (http://www.clannad.nl/2011/04/moya-brennan-collaborates-with-roger.html)

Edit: Released 30th May via https://www.beatport.com (high-quality WAV, and MP3 fomats). Released 13th June via other online stores.

Titles of the remixes are:

Morning Star (Original Club Mix)
Morning Star (Uplifting Dub)
Morning Star (Signum Remix)
Edit: new mix added: Morning Star (Pumpin' Island Mix)

Although not as 'wow' as Chicane's Saltwater, the track is certainly very nice and chilled out.

I agree that Morning Star isn't as good as Saltwater, but it still belongs to the better dance music in my opinion. :D

It amazes me how Moya's voice suits even these tracks. Saltwater was amazing, and I even like the songs she recorder with Schiller. I'm going to see if I can find the song on Youtube!

The tracks with Schiller I also like especially Miles & Miles.
The Roger Shah track I also like. It is so different to her own work, but it combines so well.

Oh the Schiller tracks are just immense - I'd even go to say they out-do Saltwater.

You can listen to the remixes (plus see the single's cover) on YouTube:

Original Club Mix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qirqz8AC1W0

Uplifting Dub - http://www.youtube.com/magicislandtv#p/c/F7A39369E9B52753/0/VMCrUjVdUfM

Pumpin' Island Mix - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-b02ylIsJc

Signum Remix - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0mtDGW5xpQ

I like the original and uplifting versions myself, but not keen on the others.

I've had an e-mail from Roger Shah's management. The 30th May release date was the Beatport (https://www.beatport.com) exclusive release date. iTunes, Amazon etc will release the song on the 13th June.

The last 2 mixes are amazing, so different yet sublime.
There you stood in front of me
Dressed in glory, white to see
Spell-bound on the deep blue skies
Created on high
Cold and warm, you set one's heart
'Cause you're the mighty one

I am completely hooked on this song!!!!! Absolutely gorgeous, isn't it?
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
