### I really love "Both Sides Now".

Postby combatmaster » Wed Nov 03, 2010 11:33 am

Calm synth and Moya's beautiful voice.
Much better than original Joni Mitchel or Judy Collins.

I'd like to hear live version or up-to-date re-recordings.
Does it exist?
Moya please do that.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

As far as I'm aware there aren't any live recordings of this song, sadly, and the only versions of the song released are the album and radio edits.

Although I do love all of Joni Mitchell's versions (being her song she puts so much feeling in!), Clannad & Paul Young's take does have a place in my heart.

Barry.

Thank you for welcomming me.
Yes it was my very first writing.

I am a very much super duper ultra non-sentimental person.
It is very rare for me to weep and sob and wail because of a song or a film.
But in this case, my tears rolled down to my chin.
very unusual for me.
(though it wasn't the first time to listen Moya's both sides now.)

The calm synth matches the mood better than just one single acoustic guitar.
And Moya's voice is better, as far as I think.

There's a video of a Clannad & Paul Young performing "Both Sides Now" here:

I couldn't check the video because the YouTube account has been closed, but it's safer to stick to a reliable source when it comes to lyrics. :)

I had no idea there was a video for this song. So excited. I have never seen it before.

Glad it helped.
There you stood in front of me
Dressed in glory, white to see
Spell-bound on the deep blue skies
Created on high
Cold and warm, you set one's heart
'Cause you're the mighty one
