Sinead Madden enters the YouBloom Song Contest!

Postby Dab051176 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 10:32 am

Morning all,

Courtesy of a post on Facebook, I've found out that Sinéad Madden (the fiddle player in Moya's band) has entered "Someone Else" from her "Honey Promises" album into the YouBloom Song Contest.

I have to admit, I hadn't heard of said contest, but to quote from their website: "The final 16 artists in the 2011 Song Contest will have the opportunity to work with top music professionals to help develop their music careers", so it sounds worth winning!

Anyway, if you want to hear the song and vote (you have to register, but it's free), head for this link, and type Sinéad's name in the search engine.

On behalf of Sinéad, thanks in advance! :D

Apologies for the double post, but just an update on this.

Voting for Sinéad's heat ends at 23:59 UK/Ireland time tonight (Sunday 13th). The good news is that Sinéad is currently leading, but only by 1 vote at the time of writing. If you haven't voted yet, and would like to, the link I've posted is still active.

I forgot to mention previously that if you haven't yet heard this song, you can listen to it through the YouBloom website.

Thanks (again) on behalf of Sinéad.
Dave

Time to start voting again, folks!

Sinéad's quarter final has now opened for voting. Same drill as before - if you go to youbloom.com, click on the "listen & vote" link at the side, and you'll be asked to sign in or register (which is free). Follow the instructions, and you're done! :)

You can vote until 23:59 GMT (So now we've put the clocks forward, it'll be just before 1am UK/Ireland time if you prefer!) next Tuesday - 12th April.

Again, on behalf of Sinéad, thanks in advance!

Thanks again to all who voted - Sinéad finished 3rd in her quarter-final, so easily qualified for the next round! :D

The semi-final is to be judged by a panel of experts led by Bob Geldof, so all we can do is keep our fingers crossed this time around! I'll post again when I know what the result is, and to let you know when we can all start voting again!

Apologies for the double post, but the results are in....

Sadly, Sinéad has been knocked out of the competition at the qualifying semi-final stage. :(

Thanks to everyone who voted, and put up with me harping (no pun intended!) on about it!
