Yesterday I was to the concert in Kerkrade. It was fantastic!!! :D :D :D :D :D

There were some songs I have never heard live before e.g. “Poison Glen” or haven’t heard for a long time e.g. “Mothers of the desert”. They also played songs from the new CD “My match is a makin”. Bye the way I love the new CD – it’s miraculous!!! Also the sound was a bit different. I realised it especially when they played “Harry’s game”. It was more quite and gentle than before. After the concert I asked Moya about it and she said that it is more like Clannad used to play it. Moya appreciates to have Ian Parker and Noel Eccles with her and their influences on her music. Noel Eccles is an exceptionally skilled percussion player. Even Leon said that he is perhaps the best one in the world.

Moya told that she still has some problems with her voice and she has still to take a lot of medicine. But I couldn’t hear the problems.

I wish everyone who is going to a concert a wonderful time there and I'm sorry for them who can't go because of the volcano.

Here are some impressions from last night:

Thanks for the review and the pictures, Susann! That last picture is especially nice!

The concert in Kerkrade sounds great! I can't wait to go to Breda. I am sorry to hear though that Moya still has problems with her voice. I hope that she will be completely well soon.

I am so happy to read that she sings the Poison Glen. It is a favourite of mine and I have never heard it live before. And I am sooo looking forward to the new CD, great that they play tracks from that one too. :D

I will also post a review when I have been to the concert, but it will probably be Friday or Saturday: we have booked a small holiday in a parc near Breda and I will be home again on Friday. :D

Love,

Yvonne

Thanks for your story and the pictures! I am really sorry to hear Moya's voice is still giving her trouble :( I was sort of worried that when she cancelled the last show in the US she had about three days to "take it easy"...I am sure that's not enough to recover from a throat infection :( Praying she will completely recover from it, despite her busy touring schedule. By the way, she looks so lovely! That white dress really suits her! :D

:( oooh...sounds wonderful! Lovely photos as well! She is wearing a pretty dress.

Sorry to hear her voice still isn't better. I thought as well as she didn't have much "rest" time to get over her infection.

Oh, I do hope I can make it. You too Ness! Looking so forward to meeting you and going the concert with you girls!

News reports here say they have flown some planes back to the airports they should be at as "test flights" and seem unscathed. I'm still a bit nervous but I'm sure they won't fly any passengers until they are absolutely sure. Skies seem to be clearing. Let's still hope!

Hi Susann,

I managed to rebook my flight for Thursday but looking at the news this morning, whether or not I will actually get to go or should, is still very much unknown. I am concerned, if I do go, I might get stuck over there as much I really want to see my friends and would hate to miss the concert. The situation is so unpredictible.

It is very upsetting as much as I know it can't be helped. I did so much planning and organizing and was looking forward so much to this trip for a long time.

My "Music of Ireland - Welcome Home" arrived yesterday so that was something to cheer me up a bit.

Kate, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :!: :!: :!:

Today have been many flights from the German and other airlines. I think it will be possible to go on Thursday.

My flight this afternoon got cancelled  Sooo no dutch tour for me this time around! Between swine flu and a volcano errupting I'm beginning to think that the world is conspiring against me making it to another gig :P But not to worry! Third time lucky!!!

Katie I really hpoe your travel plans are resolved soon, one way or another. I have been in a similar position (although obviously it's nowhere near as far for me to go!) this week and the waiting and not knowing is the most horrible bit! If you do make it, have a wonderful trip; I'm sorry we wont get to meet this time around, and be safe! And if not, I'm really sorry, and I hope you get to reschedule your flights for another time.

Will be to arrive where we started

Moya in Breda

Postby edje&anja » Wed Apr 21, 2010 8:15 pm

This was the second time in Breda for us.

And as mentioned before, is was different. We missed the flute (and the rest) player Eamonn, but the percussion player seems to "fit" more with the music, so that was better.
The flute player is busy with another project, riverdance, even he can't do everything at the same time.

They even sold the last of Moya's autobiography, the other side of the rainbow.

A few pictures.

Thanks for the pics, everybody! :D

@Kate - Things are a bit more promising on this side of the Atlantic (for the moment, at least), so by the time you read this, I hope you'll have been to and enjoyed the concert! :D

@ Ness - Of course it'll be third time lucky!

Hi Edwin,

Great pictures! Thanks for posting them. :D

It was very nice to meet you and your daughter at the concert!

My husband also took some pictures, but unfortunately they are of very poor quality. I will be posting my review of the concert in Breda later!

Love,

Yvonne
