Im sad...i've been crying the passing of Lhasa de Sela

...ive lost another of my idol and good friend Lhasa de Sela who passed away in Montreal january first at the tender age of 37 from breast cancer.

This lovely and proud Montrealer got her last record out in april 2009 and was suppose to go on to a world wide tour last fall but had to cancel because fo illness.

I'm deeply sad about this and cant believe i wont see her anymore specially around the Montreal Jazz festival every summer, a place she liked very much.

If you dont know who is Lhasa de Sela go have a look at her website

http://lhasadesela.com/

Have a look at the album "the Living Road. Its a masterpiece. Some deep and warm voice.

Ill be missing you Lhasa

That is sad news for someone to die so young and of such a horrible disease.

I've not heard of any of her work, however I'll be certain to check her out if she's impressive enough to become your idol :)

it is...sad as it can be. Its amazing how something out of my control can affect me.

The thing is that Lhasa was an adorable soul. Shy, you would meet her around downtown and all she would say with a huge smile is "bonjour". She didnt know she was a giant in the world of music, or she certainly didnt want you to feel uncomfortable because of her fame.

Lhasa moved to Montreal in 91, couldnt speak french but decided to live right where there was only french speaking people, to learn and understand about the culture.

She never left the city, she died right here in her same appartment she moved in 18 years ago, corner of Pines st and Clark.

She kept saying she was proud and consider herself lucky to live in Montreal.

Just an extradinary sould...a terrible lost !

Wow ..can i overcome this ? Maybe i need to see Moya live ? to help me out of this ?

Listen to this clip taken from Quebec city ( i was there ) listen to that deep and warm voice. Look at her pretty face....she is amazing
