Voted :D

A tip for those of you who are into a variety of Irish/celtic artists from Ireland and overseas, there are loads of them nominated in the other categories....I've so far voted for 3 people in different categories :)

Hey G, under "Best Composer" you can nominate Shaun Davey :D
Under Best Irish Traditional, you can choose Lúnasa :)
You've probably voted for those ones as part of your three, but just thought I'd mention it in case it was anyone else and you'd missed them :D

You can choose Enya under "Best Femal Vocalist" - pity Moya isn't in there :(

What did people put for their email address? I don't see a privacy policy on that site. Without this, I'd say use a bogus or disused email address otherwise there's nothing to stop them passing your email addy on to third parties, which will only result in one thing - spam.

Unfortunately, voting only seems to work with an active e-mail address. I tried a fictional one and got the message:

"You will receive shortly a verification mail where you'll have to confirm your voting!"

Much as I'd like to vote, I have to say that the lack of a privacy policy really doesn't do it for me. They could potentially pass your details on to 3rd parties, who in turn pass your details on again ..... and then you get spammed incessantly.

I think this could call for a Mailinator address

I had noticed  Thanks Angus

You need an active e-mail address as an e-mail will be sent via which you must confirm your vote.

Voted, for a lot:

Enya as best female vocalist, Clannad as Revival Act (huh?)..

Solas, Capercaille and Carlos Núñez as well ;) in various categories.

Here's hoping any of them will win one!

Just in case anyone's interested, the results have now been posted on the Ireland's Music awards website.

Unfortunately, Clannad lost out to Moving Hearts :(. but well done to Enya for winning the best female vocalist! :)

There's a link on the website to nominate for next year if anybody fancies it - shall we see if we can get them another nomination?!

Thanks, Dave :) I think I remembered I wanted to check that site again yesterday, but I forgot in the end

hmm, do you mean that link for sending suggestions for nominees?
Do we know of a female artist who should get that award next year?

Moya, Enya or Clannad always win an award, even if it's not official :D

I'm glad Enya won, in Ireland this time! ALso glad that Carlos Núñez won an award, he's a great artist and a really fun guy (I've seen him in a couple of shows/interviews).

Sad that Clannad didn't win but they did win a couple of awards in previous years...and they'll somehow win an award in years to come no doubt!

But I would be hard pressed if I had to choose between Moya OR Enya for the same award though!!!

@Luned - You're welcome. To be honest, I suddenly thought about it for no apparent reason the other night, but glad to be of help! :wink

Well, yes, I can see that point, Phantas, but there are other categories that would work for both Clannad and Moya as a solo artist - Services to Industry? Possibly Best Folk Group (especially if the Unplugged album turns up by then....)? How about the Hall of Fame award?!!!

Sorry - I'm getting a bit carried away!!!
