Let's introduce myself

Postby Calogero » Wed Jul 22, 2009 11:53 am

Just wanted to introduce myself, even if I've registered myself 2 days ago:

- My name is Calogero,
- I live in Belgium (born and raised),
- Christian (evangelical) but committed to Christ at the age of 17,
- work in a telecom company,
- am married with a lovely italian woman (she drives me crazy  ),
- we have a daughter aged 3.

How have I come to hear about Moya's music for the first time? About 10 years ago by listening to "Perfect Time" that I burnt from the mediatheque by curiosity as I wasn't sure that it would be worth the buy...

Am not specifically fan of celtic music, don't even listen to it that often. I started to have interest in this special genre of music, for its easy-listening style but also for the heritage behind.

Here's a picture of us (my daughter, myself and wife):

- I've got a brother named Samuel (married with no children yet)
- I've got a sister named Esther (divorced with 2 princesses)
- My father (Anthony) and mom (Sara) are still alive

Voilà.... That's enough I think..

What about u guys?

Welcome to the board, Calogero :) always nice to have some new faces around here :) Great pictures!

I've been around for a while now, real name is Angus, and despite having a Scottish name I'm not Scottish!

I live in the UK and work in computers. I married recently (2nd May).

Like you I'm a Christian and regularly go to church - a small AOG church a couple of miles up the road from here.

I've already said a bit about how I came into Moya's music, so won't repeat myself here.

Thanks again Angus,

And congrats for your recent wedding... with? My wife's name is Angela, Italian too.

So, you don't like Scotland?

I've got relatives in Wolverhampton and they're all part of an italian AOG funded in the early 60's during the Italian emigration.

Are you planning to have children? Ever been to Belgium?

My wife gave me the desire to visit Ireland, I hope I'll visit it someday.
I have friends who live in Pearly, don't know where it's at. That's all I know.

That's my part of the world, so now seems a good time to say hello!

I know I've briefly said hello elsewhere, but as Angus says, welcome to the forum Calogero! I'm Dave, and I'm originally from Birmingham (not very far at all from Wolverhampton!), but I now live in Wales.

I work for a bank, and joined the forum after seeing Clannad here in the UK last year. I'd been a fan for about 25 years, but it took me a long time to eventually manage a concert - and I think it's fair to say I've been catching up for lost time ever since!

If you've never been to Ireland, it's well worth a visit, and if you can get up to Donegal, so much the better! Anyway, hope you enjoy your time with us here!

Thanks a lot Dave

So, if I hadn't had relatives close to where you live, you'd never have spoken to me he??

Take care and God bless you, Dave.

Of course I would have spoken to you, but as we have something in common, so much the better!

I now live a fair way away, but I've still got family in that area, so we do go from time to time.

Hiya Calogero!
Firstly, can I say you have *such* an adoreable daughter - she is such a little angel! What stunning eyes!!! And such curly hair - a little princess :)

A big welcome to the forum! My name is Ness (Vanessa), and I'm a student in my final year undergraduate course in English literature. I am from Northern Ireland but I study in England. I've been to Italy once and cannot WAIT to go back. I LOVE PIZZA. And ice-cream. And gorgeous scenery. So Italy = my ideal place to live  I've been to Belgium too but only for the day. The chocolate definitely gets the thumbs up tho

Anyway I hope you enjoy the forum! And do get in touch with one of the moderators if you have any questions we can help with :)
All best,

Too right! Still devastated that they took it off the menu in Leo's...

Nessieq, Macha and all the others,

Thanks a lot for your welcome and kind compliments on my daughter. I still don't understand why God made her so nice, especially when you look at her dad..

I like to be here, you're all nice people and nobody's been hard or vulgar, which is rare on a forum.

You have a lovely little family, your little girl is too cute!!!

I'm 24 and I'm French,I suppose you are a French speaker as well ? I live in Ireland at the moment and I don't want to leave until I can play the Irish fiddle properly (I might be here for a good hundred years  )

Welcome, and have fun around the forum!
