Forgive my being stupid, but what exactly is meant by 'unplugged'? :?

Presumably - although by "unplugged", I wonder if Padraig means that it'll be largely without electronic instruments (keyboards etc.)? If so, it'll put a different spin on things (and it'll be interesting to see what tracks end up on there), and make it worth listening to - even if they are songs we've all got several copies of already!!!

Besides, it will be the first Clannad album in ages - reason on it's own to be celebrating!!! :D

Clannad have enough collections and best of albuns with the same songs.

True, but this is a new recording of the older songs. Unplugged is almost te same a 'acoustic'. I think it will fit the Clannad songs perfectly.

Yeah, unplugged is just another name for acoustic. Just like the Corrs had an Unplugged album (The Corrs Unplugged)

I'm really curious!

hmm...if it will sound a bit like Moya's Óró than I would be more than happy...although that was a 'live session album', I guess 'acoustic/unplugged' doesn't mean that right?! (Just to add to the confusion of the term accoustic/unplugged )

I wonder which songs will be on this new album, though ? I'd like to hear "the wild cry" unplugged :D

Although they'll be old songs and I'd love to hear some new ones, the idea of an 'unplugged' album (yes, Methica and Paul's description is correct as far as I'm aware - I have an unplugged Alanis Morissette album) sounds like it'll be good and different enough to warrant me buying it. Hopefully this will be the key for Clannad to get back into the swing of things and write something completely new!

I agree that unplugged versions of songs usually sound very interesting but I'm not sure whether I'll buy it if there aren't any new songs. I've already got two fantastic live-albums and at least on the first one many great acoustic instruments are used. :)
