this stuff is my world, people, and i just got lost in the cbm ireland site for a while, they are on facebook and i friended and shared them there, and am just wondering if we will be revisiting this sort of tribute to moya again?

each year for bono's birthday, we pool a contribution and virtual fancard to gift him wells in sub-saharan africa thru Africare. just thinking out loud here. any thot been given to something along this line? i'd love to help, contribute, and post any info on the updates of this amazing work.

thanx. i'm a pm away as well. and forgive me if i'm presumptious here, it may be something many of you have done or looked into, i'm relatively new here and full of vinegar and passion for this stuff.

stay close,

sammi=)

I think we'd love to do this again Sammi, but as with other sorts of gifts to Moya, I've got my reservations about doing it too regularly.
But yes, I agree it would be worth doing it again, knowing how it helps people.

forgive my pretense, i wanted to share a bit of how important this is to me, of vitamin A to these kids for eyesight, for aid and care of entire communities of children that are blind. here's the ONE Campaign's blog on my experience last week:

http://www.one.org/blog/2008/03/14/what-a-day/

and Senator Frist's ( a surgeon ) work with the children in the villages, a great podcast here if you have a moment.

http://www.one.org/blog/2008/03/10/frist-on-the-global-child-survival-act/

there's a hint of why this subject is one i'm bringing to the forefront here, and with 27,000 children under the age of five dying daily in developing countries, why i love reading of moya's visit and interests here.

my mum was on a respirator when i flew home last week and rallied a few days, and heard and saw and celebrated reports of the congressional hearing in washington dc, and then passed away sunday night. i'm forever grateful she knew i had this experience. the antibiotics we are lobbying for for these children were battling an infection in her. i'm grateful for science and medicine.

thanx, stay close,

sammi
