The Hunter is kind off a new version of Herne... :)

 Thanks, Methica! When I bought "Clannad. The Ultimate Collection", I was so happy, because I thought "The Hunter" actually was "Herne", probably my favourite track from Robin Hood, so I was rather surprised to discover that it's a different song, but according to the Wikipedia, not that entirely different though  But I also prefer "Herne".

Killiney I personally perfer the "In A Lifetime" collection to the "PastPresent". "PastPresent" was one of the first Clannad albums that I got and it has some awesome songs on it but I pefer "In A Lifetime" since it has more of my favorite songs on it.
For me the song The Hunter is okay but not one of my favorites. The video is okay too but again not one of my favorites.

'The Hunter' isn't going down to well. That's ok, we all have our own personal views, but, to me, 'The Hunter' has a certain magic about it, I can't explain it.

Thanks :)

There aren't many songs that do that for me, and Clannad are most of them. I almost cried to 'Fadó' once, its such a hauntingly beautiful song.

I'm also fond of Enya a lot, and a couple of tracks by Máire, but I haven't heard enough of her music though.

There are many of Moya's and Clannad's songs that move me and some from Enya too. I have not been such a big Enya fan but she dose have some great songs. I recontly bought some from itunes so they may grow on me over time.

I am and I aren't a huge fan of Enya, she does have some wonderful songs, but I'm not as moved by her as I am by Clannad. In all truth, Clannad was my starting point for the music I like today.

There definitely is something about them, but I can't quite place it.

That's one something, but there's just a certain magic about about the band. But, I am in agreement, it has to be Máire.

It does, but its so hauntingly beautiful, I mean that in a good sense. Clannad are just out of this world. They're so wonderful, words cannot describe it.

There's a haunting beauty about Clannad, take the song 'The Hunter' Máire's voice rings loud and clear, it has a certain beauty about it, I love the bit where she sings 'da da da' etc, and I love the infliction of her Irish brogue in the part where she says 'he was right by being wrong' and 'he was right there all along'. Its so magical. You have to see the video, on YouTube. Its so wonderful. I love the way Máire's face plays across the trees. This part where her face plays across the trees also happens to be the part where she sings 'da da da' etc. Lovely.

PS. My comment on the vid is under the name sonho1234. Just thought I'd mention :D
