Happy St Patrick's Day!

Postby Dab051176 » Thu Mar 15, 2012 8:51 pm

Well, 17th March is nearly upon us again, and as I'm off to Dublin tomorrow, I thought I'd stop by and wish all the fories:

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh!!!

Have a great day on Saturday - Pictures of the parade in Dublin to follow, and I assume it will be shown on RTE - so you might want to give rte.ie a go on Saturday - ..... The parade starts at 12noon UK/Ireland time.

Happy St. Paddy's in advance everyone! I'll be attending a concert of "Irish Mass" composed by Gilles Mathieu which will take place in my home city here in Finland as part of the annual Oulu Music Festival. All the performers of the Mass are Finns, but they have been learning the work's Gaelic lyrics with an American who lives here in Oulu but has got Irish roots (and is the director of the annual Oulu Irish Music Festival). Can hardly wait!

St Patrick's Day at the bookstore

Postby Turlough » Sat Mar 09, 2013 11:23 pm

Today I was visiting my local bookstore cafe and saw a wall of green books set up in honor of St Patrick's Day. One of them more than caught my glance: Granuaile: Ireland's Pirate Queen by Anne Chambers. I told my friend there about Moya and her Forum and the G . She said "Well you could buy it for her." so I explained it would have to ship across the Atlantic, and she understood.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from me as well, everybody! Not much time for me to listen to Brennan clan's music today, but I will be wearing a greenish dress today as I'm taking part to the dress rehearsal of this year's Easter Passion Play! And, if the time permits, I will be playing one of my two bits of music there on one of my tinwhistles!
