Does anyone have an artist they feel they need to share with the world. Or have you recently discovered some new musical artist that you need to tell everyone about? If so, then please list those artists here.

I will start with a few recommendations first:

Enigma
Sarah Brightman
Adiemus
Hayley Westenra

Please feel free to add your recommendations and comments in this topic

Over the Rhine (when it comes to my most favourite voices Moya's voice is nr 1 and Karen Berquist definitely has the 2nd place)

Iona www.iona.uk.com

Good topic....I often find that when you share a common taste in a certain artist that you like it is most likely that you would also like other artists that this person likes (ehm did that make sense :? )
Anyway, it is good to get to know some new artists

I heard about Katie Melua. Beautifull voice and use of some great instrument. Ive seen videoclip of nine million bycicles. Great!

http://www.katiemelua.com/

I think she's not so new to the music business, after some research on the site, she already has 3 cd's.

I would have to recommend Kate Bush http://www.katebush.com (and http://www.katebushnews.com/katenews.htm ) - well-known UK artist whose music gets better and better. Very unique and daring, her creativity is uninhibited often causing some to think she's quite eccentric. She fell out of the limlight 13 years ago having recovered some privacy in her life and giving birth to her son. She recentl came out with her new album 'Aerial' which was received with mass hysteria from critics.

Also Joni Mitchell http://www.jonimitchell.com - don't think I need say much more on her!

Kirsty MacColl ... http://www.kirstymaccoll.com - who sadly died in 2000. Moya did a cover of her collaboration with The Pogues' "Fairytale of New York." Kirsty was a mistress of perfect harmonies and clever lyrics.

And must mention Sinéad O'Connor ... www.sinead-oconnor.com Although best known for 'Nothing Compares 2 U' and her "controversial" career, Sinéad has made amazing music - have a listen to 'Faith and Courage' and 'Sean Nos Nua' - fantastic albums!

I've also gotta recomed david gray and his new album "Life in Slow Motion". His best work and its absolutely fantastic, You might know him from his song "Babylon" which was released quite a while ago now, and his sound has matured and gotten even better since then.
This is his site:

I really liked David Gray after he brought out white ladder. That is an awesome album, which i own. But after his album "a new day at midnight" i lost intrest in him. I must admit i have heard good things about his latest release, but its not enough to intrest me anymore. Who knows, i may get around to listening to him again.....
