I think I'm slowly becoming the forum's resident "Spam hunter"!!! Now there's a job I never thought I'd have!

Anyway, another new member with a suspicious looking link - Mikelangelo, this time!

I'll leave it in the capable hands of a mod/tech admin! :)

Maybe you can remove the 'website' information line from the registering form and the 'profile information'-list.

If they can't list their websites here anymore, this sort of spamming will be gone!

And make a rule that says that posting commercial websites here is forbidden!

Once we have moved from this old forum software things will be better - they will not appear in the members lists until they have made 1 post and that post will be moderated by a moderator before it is seen by the public.

It does mean all new members have to wait for a moderator before thier posts are viewable by other members though - one of its downsides.

It might be a case of the positives still outweighing the negatives, though, Chris. Most "genuine" people (i.e. those who actually want to join us, rather than just "advertise") would be happy enough to wait, I'm sure.

From what I've seen of it, the new software looks to be an improvement all round.

Apologies for the double post!

Another spammer, Pranavaortega this time. It's a bit of a giveaway when someone from New York bothers to get a .co.uk domain! :?
