Moya in an empty venue (empty of chairs, I mean!)

Allright, this should not be taken too seriously
But Jenny's post in the Glasgow topic gave me the idea
Whenever I am at one of the concerts I just can't sit still and I'd love to see what happens when Moya and Co. (or Moya and Clan. ) would perform in a venue without chairs. Would the atmosphere be really awkward or do we get such a party that the roof will be blown of?! Curious to read your thoughts!

at u2 concerts there are no chairs in the general assembly area, some nights folks are packed in there like sardines, some nights there is a decent amount of space around you, except up against the rails. some dance, most don't. but were the music to move me, well, i don't move well but many who do would definately be freed up to enjoy themselves.

do most of Moya's concerts have seats in the general area? it sounds like they may have.

That's a nice thought, Hester! Looking back at the Rotterdam concert I would say yes, definitly, I would get up and dance. But I have to say that not all of Moya's/Clannad's songs are suitable for dancing... I can imagine that it would be really strange to stand in a crowded room when listening to Perfect time, black night or Oro. But of course when it comes to Against the wind, Purple haze or tapestry I always find it hard to keep quiet in my seat... :D

I would dance as well :D (but as koseklumpen stated not all music is dance music. When I see people dance, I will automaticly want to dance as well :D

 Well Mario, 2 rows of us danced in our seats in Rotterdam - and I think if we ever repeat that performance Moya will kill us

If I dared to dance or not would depend a bit on the concert and the audience. In general, I enjoy sitting and being quiet, but if Moya performed some of the older Clannad songs, I would maybe like to move a bit, too. :D
On both Moya concerts that I have been to so far, there were a lot of elderly people in the audience and people who seemed to enjoy the concert especially because they were not expected to dance and scream. With so many silent people around me, I would never dare to make wild movements.

If only she'd perform in places without chairs.... though I wonder if it'd be safe. I mean ... we 'd bring the house down

I think I would dance, my own style. Then watching others, desparatly trying to imitate them! And then dance!! Moya's wonderland:mrgreen:

It would be great to be able to up and dance - but I think there should be chairs too  My legs wouldn't hold me up for a whole concert

I`m all for dancing. Since I was a child I`ve always wanted to express how I feel certain music. Perhaps that`s why I`m so mad about all kinds of dance now.
Though, as G said, any place to sit would be welcomed... I had to stand during the whole David Gilmour`s concert and I felt clearly how my back hated me.

From what i've heard clannad performed 'without chairs' quite a lot in their day- i'm all for it! *gets out lemon and irish dance shoes* I remember a concert in belfast a while back- a summer evening, altan on the stage of Custom House Square, and a few hundred people doing riverdance impressions amidst police sniffer dogs due to a bomb scare- Believe it or not it was FANTASTIC fun and an experience i'd love to repeat with clannad- perhaps minus the bombs
I've also been at a moya concert without chairs- open air at the beatiful night concert- i danced so much moya noticed me from the stage and stiffled a giggle  I would SO do that again, ridiculous moves, arms swaying, the works- great craic!!

 Sounds great Ness!

We all had to sit on the ground for Moya's concert in Guingamp in the summer, which wasn't exactly comfortable  and people could get up and walk around as they liked - that was went I went to stand and cheer and fell straight over backwards in front of Moya, the band, Paul and the whole audience......      wearing my Perfect Time t-shirt back to front (I had meant to take it off) - I will never live that down

How exactly does one dance to Brennan music, anyway? I haven't witnessed it firsthand yet, so I'm having some trouble picturing it. I bet some of you could quite easlly answer this, though.

As for me, even in a venue that suited dancing, I cannot picture myself actually doing any. I am most certainly in the non-dancing group. I don't even dance when I'm at dances! Sort of defeats the purpose, but... :P
