What songs would you like to come together. As Nessie and Wonky-Eggs described it, it is a fusion. What two or three songs would you like to be mixed toghether. Trad and Rock, Trad and Rave?

Example;
Coinleach Ghlas' an Fhomhair and An Gleann; Why? - Because it'll give Coinleach Ghlas' an Fhomhair morre life and revive it.

Well, like I said, I think "fusion" is the name best used to describe Clannads sound- they fuse rock, Trad, some african influences with drums and stuff, and even a bit of classical sometimes with the vocal lines in every song they ever made! I wasn't so much saying i'd like them to do more "fusion" in the future rahter than they have already achieved the status of "fusion" and I thought that it was a better term to describe their syle than this "new age" nonsense. The same goes for Moya's solo work...
jsut my 2 cents.

There is a band called Bréag (click here) and they would be Fusion. They are a mixture of Reggae and Gaelic Trad, lol.

Perhaps that's a more obvious form of "fusion" in that they fuse 2 very different types of music and make something really obvious... I supposed Clannad sound isn't as obviously "fusion" but I thin its subtltey makes it more intriguing, you have to really listen to hear everythign that's going on. that's why I love it- Ihear something new every time. It rocks. 8)

I always seem to learn something new everytime I listen to their music as well. They have tens of styles in the one song.

Also, for some other great "Fusion" music, look into Kíla. I just discovered them and think they're incredible.

I'd like to see a mix of say, Herne with Alsdair MacColla, or Caislean Oir with the haunting soft melody of Theme from Harry's Game...
Then again, they could put I Will Find You on Morning Dew :mrgreen:

sounds great to me!

I love when artists fuse styles, it would be a boring world if every album an artist did, were exactly the same ;)

Clannad fuse, rock/pop(classical) what songs in partiluar?, new age, jazz, irish, ;)

The same with Capercaillie who fuse african, scottish trad, new age, electronic, irish music, ;)

The same for Corvus Corax, Medieval/classical/goth/dance/trad medieval songs ;)

Runrig folk/rock/ country, scottish, pop/rock, electronic, dance :)

You can see why they are my fave artists ;)
