Wow, I haven't heard about this before. Many thanks for posting it :D :D :D

This will be a stressful week for me  . On 7th November I fly to Dresden to visit a friend and to go to the Irish Folk Festival with "ALTAN". Back at night on 9th November. Going to work on the early morning of 10th and in the late afternoon going to Clannad. But to Duisburg I can go by train in one hour. Back at night. To work on 11th and at night to my best friends 50th birthday and carnival party. Because on 11th November at 11.11 a.m. carnival starts in the Rhineland.

I always hoped that Clannad would to Germany again and now they do. I bought a ticket today and it will be my first Clannad-concert ever. :D

Sorry guys. Statement from the bands magament:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we unfortunately have to announce that the Duisburg show of 10th November will not now be able to go ahead on that date. We are working on rescheduling the date for the earliest possible opportunity which will most likely be in the early part of 2012 as part of a larger German tour. Tickets already purchased for this show will be valid for the rescheduled date or can be refunded if preferred. More details will follow shortly.

regards

Oh no! Who knows if I will have time on that possible other date. :|

EDIT: Does anyone of you know if the concert in Düsseldorf next year is the replacement for the one in Duisburg?

It seems that there will be a little tour in Germany next year. Eventim already mentions dates in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Leipzig. :)

Last night I was to CLANNAD’s concert in Düsseldorf. It was fantastic!!! I enjoyed it very very much. :D :D :D :D :D

On stage beside Moya, Pól, Ciaràn, Noel and Pàdraig were the drummer Liam Bradley and Graham Henderson who played the keyboards.

I tried to write down the songs during the concert but sometimes I was too much dreaming that I forgot to do it. But I think just 2 or 3 songs are missing in the enclosed set list.

Crann Úll
Coinleach Ghlas an Fhómair
Eleanor Plunkett
Two Sisters
dTigeas a damsha
Newgrange
An Túll
Buachaill ón Èirne
Mhórag's Na Horo Gheallaidh
I will find you
Robin / Herne / Lady Marian / Ancient Forest
In A Lifetime (Bono’s part sang Liam Bradley)
Harry’s Game
Dulamán
Teidhir abhaile riú

(encore)
Down by the Sally Gardens
Nil sé ina la

After the concert they signed CDs and whatever you wanted. I have never seen so many people queueing in Germany. Normally in the Netherlands there are more people who want to have signatures or a little chat with them. But the audience was great. I think there were a lot of “old” CLANNAD fans at the concert. But unfortunately CLANNAD didn’t have much time because they went directly to Leipzig for the next concert today.

Tonight I’m flying to Berlin. I look very much forward to the concert there tomorrow. :D :D :D :D :D

Sounds great, Susann! :)

I might have come over, but I'd already sorted a ticket to see Moya in the Netherlands by the time I found out, and sadly, I can't afford both!

Hope the second gig you went to was just as good, although I've got a feeling that it would have been!!!!

Hey folks,
after a very long period of time, I am returning back to the forum, because it is the best place to stay in contact with the people,
who love the music of Moya and Clannad as well. Nice to be back here.
The reason to come back here is, guess what, Clannad's homecomming tour to germany. It is now 20 years ago I saw Clannad in
Germany/Berlin last time. For me it is kind of youth dream meeting Clannad again one day. So now, my (our) dream came true.

The Concert in Berlin was great and they did a very good job and perfect sound. They're getting older but not less powerful.
"THANK YOU" CLannad !!

I have had the chance to give Moya a little present, including some suggestions to their future plans. I created a CD contains all
the sounds and music of the Robin of Sherwood DVD Series, plus cover layout ideas. This should be a kind of imagination what
many of us fans may like to buy someday: The Robin of Sherwod Sonudtrack Collection . I hope Clannad will enjoy this CD and
perhaps, we all will see this in stores wolrwide, recorded and distributed by Clannad themselves. My CD was ONLY a sample and
is NOT for sale.

I also gave them some inspiration for an open air concert in eastern germany as well and hope they will like that magical place.

Clannad will come back to germany in 2013, according to what Pòl has been announced. So see you all again in concert next year !!!!
All the best and a happy easter season.

After being back from the concert in Düsseldorf at 1:15 a.m. I went to work Friday morning. At night I flew to Berlin. Here I had booked a room in a youth hotel near the Apostel Paulus Church were the concert took place on Saturday night.
The next morning I started early to see a little bit of Berlin. I hadn’t been there for some years. I started my sightseeing tour at the “Siegessäule”. When I arrived it was raining and the view from the top was not really good. But when I came out again the sun had won against the clouds. The weather that day was like Irish weather – it changed several times from blue sky to rain and hail and snow back to blue sky. But all the time it was very cold. From the “Siegessäule" I walked to “Schloss Belvue” the residence of the German President. From there I strolled along the river Spree to the “Bundeskanzleramt” (Federal Chancellery), to the “Reichstag/Bundestag” (House of the German Parliament) and to the “Brandenburg Gate”.
In the afternoon I visited a friend who came together with a friend also to the Clannad concert that night.
At 6 p.m. – two hours before the concert – I was at the Apostel Paulus Church. But there were already some other people including “Goldenhorse”. It’s always nice to meet somebody from the forum. An hour later the doors were opened. We got seats in the first row. Before the concert started I had the possibility to talk to Leon and to some other fans I met in Düsseldorf two days ago and even at the 40th anniversary of Leo’s Tavern 2008 in Crolly.
Then the concert started and I thought “Wow, what fantastic acoustics!!!”. The concert in Düsseldorf was wonderful but this one was magnificent :D :D :D :D :D . Concerts of Moya and Clannad in churches are real special. I love it extremely. My friend didn’t know Clannad before but she enjoyed the concert very much. As always Clannad signed CDs etc. after the concert but this time they had more time for their fans than after the concert in Düsseldorf. I talked with Pól about the acoustics and he agreed. He said that it was more difficult in Düsseldorf to get a good sound.
Later Goldenhorse, three other fans and I went for a drink. We talked about our great passion Clannad, Moya and Ireland.

It was an unforgettable night. Here are the photos https://picasaweb.google.com/Susann177/ ... m31032012#

On Sunday I took the train from Berlin to the village where I grew up in Thuringia (East Germany). The next day the family celebrated my grandma’s 90th birthday. I stayed with my parents until Easter. :D :D :D

Great photos & story Susann, you must have had a front row seat in order to get such a great photos! Trying to catch the ever-moving musicians is indeed very challenging, so well done!
