Voices and Harps - New Album and Website

Postby Yvonne » Sun Mar 13, 2011 12:32 pm

Hello!

I read about this new album on the live page, with many thanks to Dubhy and Dave :D . When I googled the title I found a website about it:

http://www.voicesandharps.com/

Voices and Harps is the remastered version of My Match is a Makin' with 2 new tracks and it will be released later this year.

There will also a a workshop for singers and harpists. May be interesting for some people here?

Anyway, I am looking forward very much to the new album :D !

Love,

Yvonne

I was thinking of you when I saw the workshop on the site, Grania. I wish I could either sing or play the harp, that workshop sounds really great :D !

Do you think you will be able to go, Grania?

Love,

Yvonne

Going to Leo's is always great, but to have Moya and Cormac on stage with other musicians is even better,I'm definitely considering a weekend in Gweedore. :D

I'm actually off work that weekend, too - If I can swing the Friday or the Monday off, I'm tempted too. Only as an observer, you understand - as I've got a voice like a broken vacuum cleaner, I think Moya and Cormac would have their work cut out with me!!!! :P:mrgreen:

What a pitty :(. That weekend I'm visiting friends in Bangor near Belfast. I will be in the Gweedore area from 23 May until 9 June.

G, is there any way you can go to this? It looks rather awesome and just your cup of tea...

Oh.....yes, I think I can, although not sure about the workshop itself. I haven't touched the poor harp in over a year and wasn't at all good at playing before....but...definitely will try and make Gweedore if I can. I really need something to kick-start me into playing again and this is more likely to help than anything....

oh the temptation!

Succumb to the temptation!

You were better at the harp than you think. Maybe you can use potential participation in the workshop to motivate yourself to pick up the harp again now. It would be a fun way of relaxing and keeping sane while you finish your degree...

I got a copy of "My Match is a Makin'" and am hoping that the new version of the CD will be available for digital download so I can purchase just the two new songs. If not I will probably purchase the entire CD again. Not opposed to supporting Moya!

Hi Joshua,

There is just one new song on Voices & Harps: Casadh Mo Chroí. Gó Brach is another name for Mo Mhian.

Love,

Yvonne
