Clannad or Moya?

Postby deathrug » Wed Dec 07, 2005 8:43 pm

I was wondering . . . . if you could only choose between Clannad or Moya as a solo artist, which would it be?

Heya deathrug,

hm...a really difficult question, because I like Clannad AND Moya...so it's impossible for me to make a choice.

I find it also quite a challenge to choose, but thinking that the band has been the base of Moya's solo career, I chose form Clannad.

Oh wow deathrug - that is NOT a choice I can make!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I adore Clannad and Moya  I will vote, and I'll vote Clannad, but only because I listen to them more - and the only reason for that is that I have more albums, and I NEVER stop listening to music, or so it seems

Also, their harp pieces are rather useful, as I'm learning to play one or two myself

Moya still RULES always though

Hmmm, very difficult choice to make. Of course I love both but if I HAD to make a choice I would choose Clannad because of the song "Caislean Oir" and the remix of it on the "Chilled" CD.

Moya's vocals together with her brothers and uncles was a perfect blend, not to mention the harp ;)

Forgot really to add before, or wasn't sure how to put it....hey, sorry, it's been a long day :) Clannad has Moya's vocals, and that is the BIG thing to me - they are comforting, relaxing and beautiful, doesn't matter if it's solo work or Clannad :)

Personally, i couldnt chose either  but i do think that moya wouldnt be the soloist she is today without clannad's background and influence on her music. Equally, I dont think clannad would be who they are without moyas influence to the band.

*Beats Deathrug with very large stick* .... You coun't have given us a 'Both' or a 'Can't decide... they're both too good' ?????... Monkey

I voted Clannad.... if there had been a 'Máire' then I would have voted that... Clannad more for me though since the first song I ever heard was 'The Fairy Queen' and it was by Clannad.... though, it was Moya playing the harp.......

Again.................... Monkey!

Moyannad! lol!

And just in case any of you are wondering about my vote, it's nonexistent. I can't bring myself to vote for one and not the other...

Moya...definitely Moya, (well with Clannad as a really close second) since I heard her solo-albums first. Because I loved her voice and music so much I decided to check out Clannad

I'd say Clannad, cause that's where it all started. 8) For me as well...

I had to vote for Clannad, as others have mentioned above, **it's too hard a question**, but Clannad includes Moya, so at least I still get her voice as well as the boys, lol.
