From the 1st May until the 3rd June I was in Ireland. I was very lucky to get a ticket for the “Save our Scenery” concert with Moya, Sinead and Cormac, Mundy, Sarah Siskin, Paul Brady and Glen Hansard on the 3rd May in Leo’s Tavern. Here are some photos from the concert. After the concert was a session and I had the possibility to talk to them and to collect signatures. Moya, Paul and Glen signed “Music of Ireland – Welcome Home” and Glen also “Once”. I left Leo’s at about 3.30 am. It was a great night - I enjoyed it extremely much :D :D :D.

Hi Ness, it was just one concert but they have planned to do some "Save Our Scenery" concerts. The next concerts were on the 29th June and 1st July. Maybe somebody from the forum was there and would like to post photos that's why I called the thread "concerts".

You spent a whole month in Ireland ? wow you like that country !!

Im jealous..still never been there.

Those pics are great. you need some great equipment to get quality pics like that.

By the way have i recognized Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh somewhere in one of your pic ?

Yes Pierre, you are right I love Ireland extremely much and yes, Mairéad was there. She was in the audience and at the end of the concert she had to come on stage, of course.

I write a little diary about my holiday in the German Ireland Forum but it's just in German but there are also a lot of photos. If you like to see the pics then have a look to the following link:

Yvonne you are a great fan, and it was an honor to have met you. Im sorry for our misunderstanding not to long ago.

Where do you live in Germany ?...and where did you stay during your vacation in Ireland ? Did you visit other part of the country like Belfast ? ...How was the weather in Ireland during your stay ? Rumors says even in june, july and August its pretty chilly in Ireland.

You can go private if you feel necessary. :?

Pierre, I'm not Yvonne I'm Susann :).

When I'm in Donegal I stay in 2 B&Bs in Annagry and Gweedore. They are just 6 km from each other and nobody would change the accommodation within such a short distance but I have to go to both of them . And when I'm in the rest of Ireland I stay in hostels or B&Bs.

This year I wasn't in Northern Ireland except that day in Derry. But if you like to see pictures also from Northern Ireland have a look in http://forums.moyabrennan.com/viewtopic ... c&start=75 . Here you can find a slide show about my holiday last year in Ireland. It starts with photos from Belfast.

The first 2 weeks the weather wasn't as good as the years before. That's why I drove a lot. I had the car 29 days and I drove 5091 km (without beeing to the south of Ireland). But normally the weather in May and June is brilliant and the days are so long. These are two reasons that I prefer to go to Ireland in May and June.

I was just thinking that the topic is "Save our Scenery concerts" and I'm not talking about the concert anymore. But to show the pictures of this wonderful country goes with the topic.

You drove 5000 kl !!!

Wow...some vacation. I whole month in Ireland...im still jealous !

I must visit that country soon. Im waiting for a series of Moya concerts, or Shinead to make my trip worh while.

When was the last time Moya tour Ireland ?

Sinead had a gig in Dublin not too long ago, i think it was in early june. I wanted to go but for only one gig it would cost me too much. I prefer to keep my money when there is a full tour somewhere around the world.

Oh and by the way in just about a month i will be in Dublin....Ohio ! :D for the Irish festival. I cant wait !

Ill equip myself with a decent camera and hope to bring some good pics. I dont have my camcorder anymore as i dropped in a Berlin restaurant !
Beside, i just learned that some of these small camera can make pretty good film too.

There have been two SOS gigs since. On June 29th Moya welcomed the wonderful Brian Kennedy and Frances Black to Leo's. I was not there but by all accounts it was another great night. Pictures are posted on Leo's FB site.

I did get to the concert in May. Susann and I think I saw you with your camera!

I also got to go to see T with the M's last Thurs night, Moya, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, Maighréad agus Tríona Ní Dhonaill. It was a great gig, each did a solo set then all four together for the last hour. They were great fun, introducing songs, telling stories, having a bit of banter between them. They did alot of trad songs.. Two Sisters, Cad é sin don té sin, Spanish Lady, An Mhaighdéan Mhara, Gleanntain Ghlas Ghaoth Dobhair, A Stór a stór a ghrá and lots more... A great night!

Moya is some lady!

This reminds me of last year's gigs in Dublin, when T with the M's provided great entertainment for young and old.I must try to go and see at least one of the SOS gigs ! :)
