Jim, I wish there was a way to replace the "she" to " traditional music" and I would love your poem very much. My heart knows no other love than Tennis and Music.

OK, just think of it this way: When many of the well-known Irish songs were written, it was forbidden for the Irishman to mention his homeland, so he often used a woman, or just "she", to represent Eire. So think of the woman in this poem as representing traditional music (or tennis).

One of the great things about poetry is that so little of it can be taken literally! :mrgreen:

Thanks for the piccies, Garbo! :wink:

Senseless love of Senses

Things have changed
I've been away
and it feels like I'm forgotten;

Too long have strayed
for days and days
now all things have gone rotten;

Strange fumes I smell
it withers away
and heaven my beguiling;

Perfumes so sweet
live everyday
as if you were in your priming... (is that the correct word?)

a bit of a silly poem - I wonder (I am a total egghead when it comes to techniques) if this is in meter ? and a bit with rhyme too....

Love,
Phantas
lost in the aether, leave a message...
